Bioinspired Water Harvesting

Session R – Bioinspired Water Harvesting

  • Objectives : this symposium will bring together scientists and engineers with a common interest in developing bioinspired approaches for water collection.  A wide range of strategies will be presented and key challenges discussed.  Future opportunities for the implementation of these technologies will be explored for applications such as architecture, agriculture, construction, domestic use, and aerospace.
  • Topics will include bioinspired surfaces, surface wetting, super-hydrophobicity, super-hydrophilicity, smart surfaces, micro-condensation, rainwater collection, fog capture, and dew collection.
  • Session Chair : Jas Pal Badyal (Durham University, UK)
